Spotflock is looking for a Technical Writer to work with our technical teams to write documentation for STUDIO, our AI platform, and other supporting tools. This content is used by developers, partners, and customers.
Responsibilities:
- Write tutorials, conceptual overviews, procedures, use cases, and reference guides for the AI platform (studio.spotflock.com), APIs, SDKs, and other developer tools
- Test the features that you document to ensure accuracy and completeness
- Review content produced by team members and revise for accuracy, clarity, and conciseness
- Plan the information architecture, user experience, and content strategy for new documentation sets
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and solution engineers to develop and review content
- Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of documentation tools, standards, and processes
- Identify opportunities to automate documentation generation from the code base and other content sources
- Occasionally contribute to the development of training course content, including presentation materials, instructor guides, student guides, hands-on labs, classroom setup guides, and other related materials
- Responsible for proofreading and editing technical documents. Works with product groups to learn systems
- Flexibility to learn new products quickly
- Versatility to move from product to product as needed
- Strong ability to analyze product requirements and technical specifications
- Demonstrated success as a technical writer
Specifications:
- 2+ years of experience in writing documentation for developers
- Undergraduate degree required (BE/BS in CS/IT/Technical Communications, English, Journalism, or related field a plus)
Required Skills:
- Experience documenting APIs
- Ability to take initiative, to be self-motivated, and to work effectively on multiple projects with minimal direct supervision
- Be ready to provide writing samples of work that makes you proud, including tutorials, documentation, or other customer-facing content
- Experience with writing a whitepaper using IEEE standard and patent.
- Ability to meet deadlines and remain organized and detail-oriented
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Bonus Skills:
- Experience managing content using a static site generator, like Hugo
- Familiarity with machine learning, AI, natural language processing, microservices, and cloud computing
- Experience working in an agile environment
- Improves editorial and visual standards for documents and recommends new designs, layouts and procedures as needed.
